Mexican television and theater actress Montserrat Marañón studied Dramatic Literature and Theater at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters UNAM in Mexico City. She received the 2005-2006 FONCA scholarship in the category of Cabaret Performers, with which she was able to create the play Memorias de un géiser. Some of her teachers have been José Caballero (acting improvement), Enrique Singer (character creation), Alberto Lomnitz (character creation), Boris Schoeman (staged reading), Omar Argentino (improvisation), Jesusa Rodríguez (dramaturgy for cabaret) among others. She performs in cabaret shows, some of them with the master Jesusa Rodríguez. For 20 years she has been a guest actress of the group Seña y Verbo (theater for the deaf) working in productions for children and adults. She has collaborated in both commercial and independent theater. Since the beginning of her career she has not stopped doing theater for children. She has also worked as a storyteller for CONACULTA. She also acted in some soap operas such as El color de la pasión (2014), El hotel de los secretos (2016), Amor de Barrio (2015) and Caer en tentación (2017). The actress gained more popularity thanks to her role as Betzabé in the sitcom María de todos los ángeles (2009-2014), alongside Mara Escalante.
